Marleine Chedraoui developed the work hohe Kante (put by) for the Open House! of the Künstlerhaus Stuttgart. The edition, presented as a performative installation, has an edition height of eighty. All the paper carrier bags are arranged in eight rows and seven columns on the wall of the exhibition space. They each contain a standard sandwich bag with the title of the work screen-printed on the top. On one side, the word ‘hohe’ is printed towards the top edge of the sandwich bag and on the other side, the word ‘Kante’ is printed continuously downwards. The taped sandwich bag contains seven dried peas. Another component of each paper carrier bag is a DIN A5 sheet with the text collage Chedraoui created for this work printed on the front and the details of the work on the back. It also serves as a certificate. The artist painted her initials on the paper carrier bags with black acrylic paint. To the right of the paper carrier bags installed on the wall are two wooden boards. On the smaller one, which is placed higher up, is one of the sandwich bags and on the other, two of the certificats are shown in front and back view under glass. As soon as a copy is purchased, the buyer take one from the wall.
